Seabase

This last Saturday the whole MacKay family packed up for a trip to Seabase - a unique diving spot here in Utah. Their website's description probably says it best:

Bonneville Seabase is your in-land location for Utah diving and snorkeling. This geothermally heated, salt water, high altitude mini ocean with colorful marine tropical fish is the only one of its kind for SCUBA, snorkeling, and dive training. Whether you are feeding the beautiful French angel fish or observing the docile nurse sharks, you'll never believe you are in the middle of Utah.
None of us (except for Lorin) had ever been there before, so we were pretty excited to try diving there.

As we were checking in we saw this sign ... we thought it was pretty funny!

Just after we got there they started feeding the fish ... this nurse shark was really big!

This was Tyler's first dive trip since we'd certified together 2 years ago

Phillip and Matthew are getting ready to go into White Rocks Bay with Lettuce to feed the fish

I was pretty excited to hit the water too

The fish didn't take long to find us ... or rather the lettuce we'd brought for them

Here's Tyler feeding the fish ... they were pretty noisy eaters

This video shows us feeding the fish - the clicking noise you hear is them eating ...there were quite a few, but the visibility was terrible due to algae that grows in the water

In Habitat Bay there was an "an underwater conversation and observation area" ... according to my dive watch, Tyler and I were about 14 ft underwater when I took this video ... it was kind of weird, but pretty cool too
